Kick the sugar habit, starting with breakfast...

Eating well isn’t just about weight-loss, it’s about providing your body with the nutrients needed to function to its optimum and support your overall health. As January progresses it can be a challenge to stick to those resolutions that many of us started with such enthusiasm only a few weeks ago, but if you did pledge to eat healthier in 2017, you should now be starting to see and feel the benefits. Reducing your sugar intake is top of the list when committing to a healthy eating plan, however, kicking the sugar habit isn’t easy. This is because sugar is addictive, the more you eat, the more you crave it. One 150kcal chocolate bar/biscuit per day will add an extra lb. of fat every 3-4 week

Homemade Nutella

Shop bought Nutella lists its first 2 ingredients as palm oil and sugar, so, healthy it is not. Why not try this homemade option, which only uses 3 ingredients and water, and is great stirred into porridge or used as a spread. It's also really fun to make with the kids, my daughter loved it. Ingredients: 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder 150ml maple syrup 350g hazelnuts Method: Heat oven to 200 degrees Roast the hazelnuts on a baking tray for 15 minutes, allow to cool Blitz in a food processor, until they resemble bread-crumbs Pour in the maple syrup, cacao and blitz again to a smooth mixture Gradually add water, a little at a time, until the required consistency Keep in a glass air-tight conta

Easy Egg Muffins

These are so easy to make and great for breakfast, a snack or in a packed lunch. They are basically mini crust-less quiches. They are a good low-sugar option, packed with good quality protein and great for getting some veggies into your breakfast. I usually make mine in a 12-hole muffin tin, varying the ingredients to make 3 or 4 different kinds, so you can meet everyone’s tastes. My daughter loves the cheese and ham filling, whereas my favourite is the cottage cheese and spinach. Happy cooking! INGREDIENTS: Base: 6 large free-range eggs 6 rashers of free-range smoked bacon (optional) Salt and pepper to taste Fillings: (these are my favourites, it's fun to experiment with your own) Broccoli

Nutrition MOT

Following a period of illness I decided to take my life in hand and decided that my diet needed an overhaul. As a family we have adapted the changes easily into our busy lives and have enjoyed the meals from the menu plan. It has made us look more carefully at the foods we are buying. If you’re reading this, you’re obviously contemplating looking at your diet. I would definitely recommend Donna to help you with this.

Gut Healing Programme

I contacted Donna because I had health issues and a poor diet. I'm so pleased I did as she helped me change my diet and I now feel so much better with her support. In fact, I was so impressed that I advised my daughter to see Donna, and she in turn has recommended Donna to her friend. Overall Donna is competent and understanding, easy to talk to and sympathetic to a person's needs. I would give her a 5 Star rating *****
